Welcome to the Madison County Clerk’s
Office. We are located on the ground floor in
the Madison County Office Building at 138
North Court Street (Building Four) in
Wampsville, NY.

Our Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
is located on the north side of the building and
the Recording Office is located on the south.
We look forward to providing you with
friendly, personal service in accessing records
in the easiest manner possible.

We understand that your time is valuable and
strive to make your visit as pleasant and
efficient as possible
. As the “Office of Public Records” most of the Clerk’s
records are open for inspection. However, a few
series of documents remain sealed. The following
items are sealed: divorces under 100 years; pistol
permit files; sealed criminal records, child surrenders,
and some civil cases. Naturalization records may
be searched. However, law prohibits the clerk’s
office from making or preparing certified copies
and certificates.
