What’s new at the Board of Elections? A Ballot Marking Device (BMD) is required by law at all NYS pollsites this Federal Election year (and all subsequent elections). This device enables a voter with disabilities to vote a ballot privately and independently. The purchase of at least 36 BMDs for Madison County will determine the new voting system that will replace the lever machines no later than Election Year 2009.
The Sequoia ImageCast
Commissioners Lynne Jones and Laura Costello agreed to order the Sequoia ImageCast voting system for use as a BMD for every pollsite this September 2008. The Commissioners chose this system due to-
