The Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) is an Alternative to Incarceration utilized
primarily for those convicted of a felony-level offense. ISP provides the Court with a
viable sentencing option for those offenders otherwise likely to be incarcerated. A
sentence to ISP may be imposed either during the initial sentencing phase for a crime
or as the result of a Violation of Probation action. Offenders sentenced to ISP are
subject to more rigorous supervision in that they are required to report to their
supervising probation officer more often and community contacts are conducted with
greater frequency.
