Medical Assistance: Medicare Savings Program
The Medicare Savings Program (MSP) is a program that pays for Medicare premiums for SSI Medicare eligible beneficiaries, Qualified Medicare Beneficiaries (QMB), or Specified Low Income Medicare Beneficiaries (SLIMBs).
QMB: If meeting the financial requirements, this pays either Medicare Part A or B premium; client must conditionally enroll in Medicare Part A and pays Medicare Part A & B coinsurance and deductibles.
SLIMB: If meeting the financial requirements, this pays for Medicare part B premium only; client must have Medicare Part A.
Q1: If meeting the financial requirements, this pays for Medicare Part B premium only; client must have Medicare Part A, and there is no resource requirement.
