About Us: Vision and Mission
Given its broad scope of services and clientele, DSS's vision is as follows:
- All children in Madison County will live in safe, supportive homes.
- Families and foster parents will have the means and tools to care for their children through counseling, referrals, child support and advocacy, medical, financial support programs, training, and casework.
- Individuals will have the support they need to acquire and keep a job and develop skills for self-sufficiency.
- Senior citizens, especially those living on a fixed income, will have support for health, medical, housing and financial issues.
- Individuals with disabilities will have partners in advocacy, as well as financial and medical support.
- Madison County DSS will work in partnership with schools and community organizations to provide referrals, information and services to the people of Madison County.
- We will safeguard the public trust and make efficient use of our resources.
- Employees of Madison County DSS will work together in a cooperative, professional and supportive environment.
Mission
The Madison County Department of Social Services effectively and efficiently provides financial support, tools for self-sufficiency, aid for health and safety issues, community referrals and advocacy for all residents of Madison County.
We work with community groups and local government to strengthen networks of community service.
We strive to treat everyone with respect, trust and dignity while fostering a work environment of open communication and mutual support.
